Human factors science is considered important to the design of healthcare work, processes, and systems. In the talk, the speaker will introduce the concepts and theories of human factors and describe how they can be useful in analyzing and addressing safety and system design issues in healthcare. Cases will be used to share knowledge in how the analyses can be implemented and how healthcare and patient safety concerns can be approached through human factors and system thinking. 

嘉宾简介：

Dr. Calvin Or is an Associate Professor and Assistant Head of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. He started his human factors and ergonomics work in almost 20 years ago. His current work primarily focuses on human-computer and human-organization interaction and usability engineering as applied to health information technology design and implementation for patient safety and health. The aim of his work is to improve patients’ health outcomes and physical and social well-being and to minimize adverse events. Dr. Or is an Honorary Advisor for the Department of Quality and Safety of the New Territories East Cluster of Hong Kong Hospital Authority. He is a Scientific Editor for the Journal of Applied Ergonomics. Also, he has joined and served the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society for more than ten years, and is currently the President of the Society.
